Claire Castillo and Steven Cross took advantage of the chance to run a major race in their own backyard and won individual 5K races at the 14th annual flrunners.com Invitational on Saturday at Chain of Lakes Park in Titusville.

Cross established the area's top boys varsity time of the year in winning the Boys Invitational race in 15:51.80, also a personal best for the Merritt Island 10th-grader.
